Meret Signs New Two-Year Deal With Napoli

Napoli have announced that Alex Meret has signed a new contract with the club until June 30, 2027. The 28-year-old’s contract was set to expire on June 30 this year, but after talks between the player and the club, Meret decided to continue with Napoli.

Napoli confirmed the renewal of the Italy international on the club’s website. It reads: “Meret made his debut with the Azzurri on December 8, 2018, in a 4-0 home win against Frosinone. He has made 212 appearances for Napoli, keeping a clean sheet on 68 occasions.

“Wearing the Napoli shirt, Meret has won two Serie A titles, in the 2022–23 and 2024–25 campaigns, and one Coppa Italia in 2019–20.”

The Italian side also added that no shot-stopper kept more clean sheets than Meret last season, going 16 games without conceding a goal.

Meret’s goalkeeping heroics played a crucial part in Napoli winning the Serie A title in the 2024/25 season.
