Bournemouth have approached Chelsea regarding the signing of Serbian goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic. According to reports, the South Coast club have submitted an official opening bid for the 24-year-old, with negotiations currently ongoing between both clubs. Petrovic is said to be open to the move.

Earlier speculation suggested that Bournemouth were close to finalizing a deal worth around €25 million. However, those reports were dismissed, with no agreement yet reached.

There were also claims of interest from Sunderland last week, but those links appear to be unfounded. Bournemouth now remain hopeful of securing the transfer.

Petrovic spent last season on loan at Ligue 1 side Strasbourg, where he made 31 league appearances and kept 10 clean sheets.
