Sunderland have reached an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen to sign Granit Xhaka for a fee of €20 million.
The Switzerland international has already agreed on personal terms and will sign a three-year contract with the option of a one-year extension.
Xhaka is expected to play a crucial role for Sunderland this season, providing leadership and experience as the club aims to secure its Premier League status.
