Pretoria Court Rules The Body Of The Late President Edgar C. Lungu Be Brought Back To Zambia For Burial

The Pretoria High Court has ruled that former Zambian President Edgar Lungu’s body must be released for repatriation to Zambia, where he will be given a State Funeral by the government.

His family wanted to bury him in South Africa due to the rift he had with Zambia’s current President Hichilema.

However, the government filed a case against the Lungu family, including former First Lady Esther Lungu, seeking to repatriate the former’s president’s body for burial at Embassy Park, contrary to the family’s expressed wishes.

Lungu’s sister, Bertha cries loudly after the court ruling, saying that Hichilema’s government wants to take her brother’s body to perform ritual.

The deceased president who died in South Africa, will be buried in his home country.
