South African Police Apprehend 26-Year-Old Murder Suspect After Posting Video On Social Media Over The Death Of Girlfriend

The community of Maubane, a village located near Hammanskraal in the Gauteng province of South Africa was in shock after a young woman, identified as Kgaogelo Nnonu, was allegedly stabbed to death by her boyfriend outside Dubai Tarven on Thursday morning.

According to reports, the 26-year-old suspect stabbed the deceased multiple times before fleeing the scene and thereafter took to the social media to post an explanation.

The video which has since circulated draws outrage as netizens demand for swift justice for the late Nnonu, who was described as a vibrant young woman whose life was cut short in a senseless act of gender-based violence.

The father of the deceased equally made a video confirming the boyfriend killed his daughter and went further to blame the deceased as he had on several occasion warned her to stay off the street and off the boyfriend, which she didn’t adhere to.

The South African Police (SAP) has apprehended the murder suspect and will appear at Temba court on the 25th August.

This tragic case adds to the growing number of gender-based violence incidents reported across the country, with advocacy groups once again urging authorities to intensify their efforts in protecting women and ensuring perpetrators face the full might of the law.
