Eriksen Joins 2008 Bundesliga Champions Wolfsburg

Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg have completed the signing of Christian Eriksen on a free transfer. The Danish midfielder last played for Manchester United, where he made 107 appearances across three seasons, winning the Carabao Cup in 2023 and the FA Cup in 2024.

Eriksen described Wolfsburg as a “very beautiful choice” for him, particularly because of the presence of several of his Danish national teammates.

“Wolfsburg is my first club in the Bundesliga — I’m really looking forward to this new adventure. I’m convinced we can achieve something together,” said Eriksen.

“I immediately sensed that [Wolfsburg manager] Paul Simonis has a clear vision for the team and for me personally.

The fact that there are several familiar faces in the squad from the Danish national team makes Wolfsburg a particularly attractive proposition for me.”

Eriksen has already started training with his new teammates and is expected to be in the squad for Wolfsburg’s match against Köln on Saturday, September 13.
