2027 Election: Obi Meets With Leaders Of Afenifere Faction In Lagos, To Discuss Strategies For Addressing Nigeria’s Economic And Security Challenges.

The 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate and former governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi disclosed he met with leaders of an Afenifere faction in Lagos on Tuesday, to discuss national unity, restructuring, and strategies for addressing Nigeria’s economic and security challenges ahead of the 2027 elections.

Obi who posted on X on Wednesday stated: “Yesterday the 16th of September 2025, I met with the leadership of the Pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere under the leadership of Oba Oladipo Olaitan, who is also the leader of ethic Nigerian nationality comprising PANDEF and Middle Belt Forum.

“I sincerely thank them for their courage for always standing out for fearless justice and the unity of our country, and urge them not to relent.

“We had a useful meeting and discussed extensively about the current situation in our country, especially in the critical areas of education, health and pulling people out of poverty.” He added

The presidential hopeful was accompanied by Lagos State governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu contender in 2023 gubernatorial election, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, where Obi reaffirmed his vision for an inclusive Nigeria and restated his presidential ambitions during the engagement, led by Oba Oladipo Olaitan, who heads a coalition of ethnic groups including PANDEF and the Middle Belt Forum.

He affirmed: “I remain committed to an all-inclusive, united Nigeria where no part will be left behind.”
