Quite disheartening that someone holding a public office could descend so low to the point of lying about the eligibility of the state athletes who have sacrificed so much for the growth and development of sport in the state.
The Lagos state athletes openly reject this false claim as there are evidences of not just being a bonafide but registered state athletes of Lagos State.
These athletes stayed loyal to the state even our colleagues were leaving to cash out in other states
On the issue of impostors.
The Lagos State athletes elected their executive representatives which comprises of the General Captain (Olowolayemo Adewale Sikiru), the vice captain (Opeoluwa), the Secretary (Hassan Rasheedat), the welfare (Hakeem) and the P. R. O(blessing). They were duly sworn in by the directors of the commission and have since been diligently representing the athletes. Pictures and videos available.
The DG showed his incompetency and hatred for the athletes he is supposed to cater for by calling their performance “subpar”. Someone that had never in his entire life represented the state in any sporting event, never wore the team Lagos jersey and does not know what it feels like to wear it, never travel long hours on dangerous route to and from national competitions like the NSF, never shed sweat on the pitch, stayed in mosquito infested camps, ate undone food, stool due to foods not well prepared and preserved and never ran the length and breath of the field lack the moral ground to call our performance “subpar”. It is an insult on the entire sport men in Lagos, Nigeria and the world at large.
He equally lacks the moral standing to dissolve the senior team of the Lagos State because he never made us athletes, he never confirmed us athletes and he has never produced an athlete and will continue to live in the shadow of that great achievement.
He met us in the state and he shall leave the state for us because he has brought more pain and agony to Lagos State athletes and decline to Lagos State sport in general.
The Lagos State athletes stand on our ground of vote of no confidence on the DG, mr Lekan Fatodu and reject him as the DG.
