Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on Tuesday described the commencement of commercial flight operations at the Gateway International Airport, Iperu-Ilishan, as a dream come true for the people of the state.

The Governor made this remark while addressing the first set of passengers boarding the maiden ValueJet flight from the airport to Abuja.

In his post on X he noted that the moment marked a historic milestone in Ogun’s journey toward economic expansion, connectivity, and industrial growth.

His post read: “A dream come true! ✈️

“Today, we witnessed history as we addressed the first set of passengers boarding the maiden fly value jet flight from our very own Gateway International Airport to Abuja.

“What began as a vision has become a tangible reality — a testament to our collective determination, unwavering faith, and the power of good governance in action.

“This moment marks the beginning of a new era of connectivity, commerce, and convenience for the good people of Ogun State and beyond.
