Politicians Condemn Nigerian Professional Football Club Kano Pillars, Over Attack On It Opponent, Ex Aide To Former President Buhari Defend Actions

A few of the Nigerian Politicians Senator Shehu Sani, Akin Alabi, mohammed Jammal among others have lashed out at the Nigerian Professional Football Club Kano Pillars fans for attacking opposing team after losing out in a match on Sunday.

Its being noted that this is not the first time of such shameful behavior from the fans, however , so many people are calling for either heavy fines or total banning of the club from football match.

The Former Kaduna Central senator, Shehu Sani, condemned the unruly behavior of the team fans against the players of the shooting stars after an unfavourable match.

Senator Sani had revealed that one has to be security conscious at any game played against Kano Pillars, as the the fans are volatile and hostile to losing games, in his words: “The unruly behavior of the Kano Pillars fans against the players of the shooting stars is unacceptable and condemnable.

“One of the problem I found out when one goes to our stadiums to watch the local league matches is the problem of thugs loitering around. Half of your attention is on the match and half on your safety and that of your vehicle.”

Chaos had erupted on Sunday at Nigeria Premier Football League –NPFL– Match in Kano state as Angry Kano Pillars’ Fans attack referee, Shooting Stars players, and officials after late equalizer.

EX-Special Assistant to Muhammadu Buhari, former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, on Digital Communications Bashir Ahmad in trying to defend the Kano of Pillars fans argued that “the game, the match was clearly compromised.”

According to the former aide: “The referee’s decisions were clearly biased and frustrating to watch. Not justifying the pitch-invasion incident, but the officials must understand the complexity and volatility of our environment, where people can easily be provoked to take the law into their own hands when they feel cheated.

“As a key stakeholder, your voice is important not only in condemning the violence but also in calling for fair officiating.” Ahmad had responded to Nigerian Politician Akin Alabi’s reaction, who pointed out that the fans of Kano Pillars usually resort to violence when results don’t go their way.

Alabi on the other hand called on NPFL to deduct out of their points and” they must be heavily fined. They should also play their “home” games outside Kano for the rest of the season. Nonsense.”

Mohammed Jammal expressed disappointment over the incidence: “I was genuinely happy to see a full stadium but the aftermath was utterly disgraceful! We can do better.”

There have been call via social media platform that the team fans should be barred from attending football games while pillar of Kano team is heavily fined or totally banned from playing football.
