National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested Godwin Emeka Ejifor, a 52-year-old boutique owner in Kano who excreted 127 wraps of cocaine concealed in his private part and stomach, after days in custody.

Femi Babafemi, Director of Media and Advocacy, NDLEA, disclosed in a statement that the old businessman operates a boutique business in Lagos and Anambra states was arrested at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), Kano.

Babafemi disclosed that following credible intelligence, Ejiofor was arrested upon his arrival from Bangkok, Thailand, via Ethiopian Airlines flight ET 941 on Wednesday, and was subjected to a full-body scan, which showed that he had ingested substances suspected to be drugs.

“A total of 58 wraps of cocaine were immediately recovered from his pants, after which he was taken for excretion observation during which he egested 69 pellets of cocaine in seven excretions, bringing the total number of wraps of the Class A drug recovered from him to 127, weighing 1.388 kilograms.”

Preliminary findings suggest Ejifor may be part of a larger drug trafficking network operating between Nigeria and foreign partners. The NDLEA says investigations are ongoing to trace her suppliers and intended recipients abroad.
