The Nigerian Army’s payroll transactions for 2024 amounted to a staggering N139.1bn, according to data from a portal documenting government expenditures, Govspend. The transactions, recorded between February and October 2024, cover salary payments for the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Army University Biu and were paid from the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System to the service. Lydia Mugabe, a United Nation judge has been convicted by a British jury on Thursday for forcing a young woman into slavery, after tricking her into coming to the U.K. According to Prosecutors, Mugambe “took advantage of her status” and forced the Ugandan woman to work as her maid and provide childcare for free.
