The United States has deported Tomás Yarrington, the former governor of Mexico’s Tamaulipas state, after he served a prison sentence for money laundering. Yarrington, who governed from 1999 to 2004, was convicted of accepting $3.5 million in bribes and using these funds to purchase luxury properties in the U.S. Yarrington had been sentenced to nine years in prison in the United States after being arrested in Italy in 2017 at the request of US and Mexican authorities. Navy Raids Criminal Haven, Arrests 27 Drug Peddlers
Operatives from the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Beecroft executed a coordinated raid on a known criminal hideout called Gidan Drama, located along Malu Road in the Apapa area of Lagos.
