Benjamin Netanyahu:” I came to the United States in 2016, right before the elections. And I meet with Hillary Clinton. And then I meet with Donald Trump in New York. “The first thing he says to me in Trump Tower is, we can’t let Iran have nuclear weapons. I’m going to walk out of that terrible Iran deal. Jump forward eight years later, there’s another election. “I meet President Biden and Kamala Harris in Washington, and then I go and meet Donald Trump in Mar-a-Lago. “And the first thing he says to me, even before I sit down, he says,...

Venezuela Warns Of ‘Serious’ Environmental Impact From Alleged Oil Spill In Trinidad And Tobago
Venezuela says an oil spill that originated in Trinidad and Tobago, two islands just off its coast, had caused serious environmental damage along the coastlines of at least two of its states and in a gulf area near the Caribbean nation. The extent of the spill was disputed Sunday by the government of Trinidad and Tobago, which said only 10 barrels were spilled and it was contained the same day it was detected May 1. Venezuela’s Foreign Ministry said late Saturday in a letter addressed to the international community that initial assessments found “severe risks” to ecosystems in the states...
Trump Rejects Iran’s Response To Latest US Proposal To End The War
Iran sent its response to the latest U.S. proposal to end the Iran war via Pakistani mediators on Sunday, but U.S. President Donald Trump quickly rejected it in a social media post as “TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!” — the latest setback to efforts to resolve the standoff in the Persian Gulf that has throttled shipping and sent energy prices soaring. Iranian state television reported that Tehran rejected the U.S. proposal as amounting to surrender, insisting instead on “war reparations by the U.S., full Iranian sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, an end to sanctions, and the release of seized Iranian assets.” Washington’s...
Thailand’s Thaksin Released From Prison After Serving 8 Months For Abuse Of Power
Thailand ’s former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, whose 21st-century political odyssey sharply divided Thai society for decades, was released from a Bangkok prison on Monday after serving eight months of a one-year sentence for a corruption-related charge. A crowd of about 300 supporters and political allies gathered outside the Klong Prem Central Prison to greet the 76-year-old billionaire populist. Thaksin was a telecommunications magnate who founded his own political party in 1998 and served as prime minister from 2001 until a military coup ousted him in 2006 while he was abroad. His ouster triggered nearly two decades of deep and...
Starmer Pledges To Bring Britain Closer To The EU As He Fights Calls For His Ouster
Prime Minister Keir Starmer will pledge to bring Britain closer to the European Union as he tries to fight off demands to step down after devastating local election results for his Labour Party. Starmer plans to use a speech on Monday to argue that he will “face up to the big challenges” and restore “hope” to the country. That includes “putting Britain at the heart of Europe,” a decade after the U.K. voted to leave the EU, his office says. But Starmer’s position is fragile, with dozens of lawmakers calling for him to announce a date for his departure. Former...
