Davido Releases New Song “Be There Still”, Chief Priest, Others Stress Grammy Award Is Rigged

Davido’s popular businessman and socialite friend, Pascal Okechukwu known as Chief Priest has reacted to the new song “be there still” shortly after its release, stating that Grammy Award is rigged.

“Grammy no be evidence, I can mention over 100 great musicians who never won a Grammy including legendary Fela. Grammy is rigged! I still stand on the point, nobody sing pass Davido” he said

The Afrobeat singer has been nominated four times for Grammy Award in the cause of his musical career.

2023: He was nominated for his album “Timeless” and tracks like “Unavailable” and “Feel”. 

2025: He was nominated for the Best African Music Performance category. 

2024: He was nominated for Best Global Music Performance, Best Global Music Album and Best African Music Performance. 

2025: He was nominated for the Best African Music Performance category

The Grammy Award is an annual ceremony presented by the Recording Academy to recognize outstanding achievements in the music industry, which often than not has positive impact on either nominated or winning artist for the recognition of their work.

Another fan of Davido @phenixcity41137 in support to Chief Priest’s statement had emphasized on King Charles 111 mentioning of the ‘Omo Baba olowo’ Crooner song ‘Kante as one of his musical playlist in commemoration of Commonwealth Day.

@phenixicity equally believed that Grammy Award is not equivalent to the singer’s musical talent while he praised the new musical release, in his words:

“You are right CP! I’ve always known that Grammy award is a scam. King Charles lll disgraced grammy after announcing Davido’s song Kante as one of his favorite songs in the Buckingham palace. F*ck grammy. This win is more than enough. OBO for life”

The monarch of the United Kingdom has shared a list of his favourite tracks in an exclusive music playlist titled ‘The King’s Music Room’, on March 10th with Davido’s Kante being on it.

King Charles explained that the Afrobeat singer made him fall in love with Pidgin English and he would like to speak it.

Kante is the 10th track off Davido’s fourth album, Timeless, which was released in March 2023 and features Fave.
