Arsenal are scheduled to hold talks with Mikel Arteta and his representatives over a new contract running until June 2029.
The club are keen to secure Arteta’s long-term future amid growing awareness that several European giants are monitoring his situation.
Both Manchester City and Real Madrid are understood to hold strong admiration for the Arsenal manager.
Manchester City reportedly view Arteta as a concrete option should Pep Guardiola leave the club in the summer, while members of the Real Madrid board are said to be highly impressed by the work Arteta has carried out at Arsenal.
Arteta’s current contract at Arsenal runs until June 2027, but the club see continuity and long-term stability as a priority following another strong campaign under the Spaniard.
A meeting between Arsenal officials and Arteta’s camp is scheduled for next week, with the intention of finalising an agreement before the end of the season.
If negotiations progress as expected, the new contract could be formally announced during the summer.
Arteta has guided Arsenal to the final of the UEFA Champions League this season, while the club also sit top of the Premier League with three matches remaining.
