Chelsea FC endured a disappointing 3-1 defeat at home to Nottingham Forest, with the visitors delivering a strong performance at Stamford Bridge.
Taiwo Awoniyi was the standout performer, scoring twice and also winning a penalty. The spot kick was converted by Igor Jesus, helping Nottingham Forest secure a convincing away victory.
The result continues a difficult run for Chelsea, who have won only two of their last ten matches in all competitions. Despite significant investment in the squad, the team’s inconsistency remains a concern.
Since the arrival of club owner Todd Boehly, Chelsea have spent more than €1.3 billion on transfers, but performances have not matched expectations. The club currently sits 9th in the Premier League standings and faces the possibility of missing out on European qualification if results do not improve.
The defeat adds further pressure on the team as they attempt to win their three remaining fixtures and qualify for European football next season.
