FC Barcelona have decided not to pursue a move for Mika Godts during the upcoming summer transfer window, despite positive internal scouting reports.
The 19 year old winger, currently at Ajax, has enjoyed an impressive season in the Eredivisie, recording 17 goals and 12 assists in 20 appearances. However, Barcelona’s sporting department has opted against advancing negotiations at this stage.
Sporting director Deco is prioritizing the signing of a left winger capable of making an immediate impact in the first team, rather than a long term development project.
As a result, Barcelona are focusing on other targets in the position. The current shortlist is reported to include Victor Muñoz, Bradley Barcola, and Jan Virgili, among others. Club president Joan Laporta is also understood to have a preference for Rafael Leão as a potential marquee option.
Barcelona’s approach reflects a clear shift in transfer strategy, with the club aiming to strengthen the squad with established performers ready to contribute immediately at the highest level.
