Fabian Hurzeler has reached full agreement on a new long term contract with Brighton and Hove Albion, with the deal now considered done and set to be signed soon.
Brighton are fully satisfied with his work and are firmly planning their future around the 33 year old, who has decided to stay despite interest from several clubs including Bayer Leverkusen.
Hürzeler has quickly made a strong impact since taking charge. He became the youngest permanent head coach in league history at the age of 31 and wasted no time delivering results. In August 2024, he was named Premier League Manager of the Month after an unbeaten run that included a win over Manchester United and a draw against Arsenal.
His Brighton side has built a reputation for competing with the league’s biggest teams. During the 2025-26 season, they secured notable victories over Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, and Manchester United, underlining their rise as a serious force.
In terms of league performance, Brighton finished 8th in the 2024-25 Premier League season and recorded a historic league double over Tottenham. In the current 2025-26 campaign, they sit 6th as of May, placing them firmly in contention for European qualification.
Hürzeler’s journey adds further context to his rapid rise. Before arriving in England, he gained attention in Germany for his progressive coaching style and strong leadership at a young age. His ability to organize teams effectively while maintaining an attacking identity has made him one of the most highly rated young managers in European football, and Brighton now see him as central to their long term ambitions.
