José Bordalás Set to Leave Getafe

Jose Bordalas is expected to leave Getafe CF at the end of the season, according to reports from Marca.

Bordalás’ time at the club has been defined by resilience and tactical discipline. During the 2022-23 season, he returned to manage the final seven matches with Getafe sitting in the relegation zone. He secured three crucial wins in his last six games, guiding the team to survival on the final day.

In the current 2025-26 La Liga campaign, he has once again exceeded expectations. Getafe sit 6th as of April 2026 despite scoring among the fewest goals in the league. The team boasts the third best defensive record in Spain, behind only Real Madrid and FC Barcelona.

His approach has been built on a high intensity and pragmatic system, often grinding out results. Late in the season, Getafe won seven of ten matches, many by narrow 1-0 scorelines which have become a trademark of his style.

Bordalás’ connection with Getafe runs deep, having previously managed the club during one of its most competitive periods, including European qualification. His ability to organize defensively and extract maximum efficiency from limited attacking output has defined his legacy, making his expected departure the end of another significant chapter for the club.
