American pop star Olivia Rodrigo is set to appear on FC Barcelona’s shirt for the upcoming El Clásico, as part of the club’s ongoing partnership with Spotify, according to reports from Mundo Deportivo.
As part of the collaboration, Rodrigo’s branding will reportedly replace the usual Spotify logo on the Barcelona kit for the high-profile fixture against Real Madrid.
Rodrigo, 23, is an American singer and songwriter of Filipino descent from Murrieta, California. She first gained public attention as an actress on Disney productions such as Bizaardvark and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series before launching her music career in 2021 with the breakout hit drivers license.
Her music is widely known for its themes of relationships, heartbreak, and emotional storytelling. She has cited artists such as Taylor Swift and Harry Styles as key influences on her sound and songwriting.
Since her debut, Rodrigo has achieved significant global success, winning three Grammy Awards and receiving 14 nominations. Her albums SOUR and GUTS both enjoyed major commercial and critical success worldwide.
The El Clásico, one of football’s biggest fixtures, is expected to take place as part of the continued branding activations between Barcelona and Spotify.
