Philippine Vice President Duterte Faces Removal From Office As Congress Endorses Impeachment
The Philippine lower house of Congress on Wednesday endorsed an impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte, the daughter of the country’s firebrand former president, paving the way for a rare trial in the Senate. A bill of impeachment will be sent to the upper house, where the 23 senators would serve as jurors in proceedings that could result in the removal of Duterte and her lifetime disqualification from holding office. Duterte would be the Philippines’ second most senior official to face removal from office. The grounds for impeachment were not immediately clear. Duterte has consistently denied wrongdoing and has...

Hamas Brands Trump Proposal To Take Over Gaza ‘Racist’ Idea, Palestinians Push Back Strongly At Trump’s Suggestion
Palestinian militant group Hamas lashed out Wednesday at President Donald Trump’s shock proposal for the United States to take over the Gaza Strip and resettle Palestinians in other countries, seemingly whether they want to leave or not. Trump made his announcement to audible gasps during a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whom he was hosting at the White House for talks. In a proposal that lacked details on how he would move out more than two million Palestinians or control Gaza, Trump said he would make the war-battered enclave “unbelievable” by removing unexploded bombs and rubble,...
US military plane carrying deported Indians lands in Punjab
A US deportation flight carrying about 100 Indian nationals accused of entering the country illegally has landed in the state of Punjab. The military aircraft, which left Texas late on Tuesday, is now in the city of Amritsar where authorities say they have put measures in place to process the deportees. President Donald Trump has made the mass deportation of undocumented foreign nationals a key policy. The US is said to have identified about 18,000 Indian nationals it believes entered illegally. Trump has said India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi had assured him that the country would “do what’s right” in...
Witnesses Narrates Horrific Sweden School Shooting
A student at the education centre in central Sweden has recalled how she and others tried to help one of the victims of what would turn out to be the worst school shooting ever to happen in Sweden. “A guy next to me was shot in the shoulder. He was bleeding a lot. When I looked behind me, I saw three people on the floor bleeding,” Marwa, who only gave her first name, told TV4 Sweden. Eleven people died after Tuesday’s attack at Risbergska school in Orebro, including the suspected gunman. Police say the number of those injured remains unclear....
11 People Killed And Unknown Numbers Injured In Central Sweden School Shooting
The Prime Minister of Sweden has described Tuesday campus shooting as the “worst mass shooting in Swedish history”, as police reported that 11 people were killed in the incidence including the suspect, who was believed to have acted alone. Recall there had been an attack at an education centre in Risbergska school in Orebro, 200km (124 miles) west of the capital city Stockholm. Though the motive behind the attack is still unclear, however the police have ruled out anything “ideological”. “It is difficult to take in the magnitude of what has happened today,” Kristersson said at an evening news conference....
